Filia's Links
If Filia surfed the web, what might she have in her bookmarks?
(or ought to, if she didn't)

  • The Republic of Tea - the prices can get a bit high, but the tea is worth it, and you do get your money's worth in amount. My personal year-round favorite is the Tea of Inquiry, and the seasonal-only Tea of Good Tidings is the perfect addition to any Winter Holiday party.

  • Teavana - another excellent tea site for a corporation based out of Atlanta, Georgia.

  • Tisanes of Broadway - located in Worcestershire, they also sell coffee and collector teapots.

  • Triple Leaf Tea - retailer for Chinese medicinal teas.

  • Blue Moon Tea - a retailer for a variety of tea brands and tea supplies.

  • Special Teas - another retailer carrying numerous brands and tea supplies.

  • Antique Roadshow - the official site.

  • Curioscape - the largest antique, collectible, art, and speciality online resource. It's like an Anime Web Turnpike for antiques.

  • Antique and Collectable Mall - TIAS - another large collection of sites and antique/collectables retailers.

  • About Antiques - an informational site.

  • eBay.com - Antique Teapot Search - refined search string specifically for antique teapots.

  • Dancing Dragon - one of the best retailers anywhere for draconic items.

  • eBay.com - Dragon Collectables Search - the search string I usually use when I'm in the mood to hunt down Draconic items.

  • Draconic.com - by Dragons, for Dragons.

  • Draconic.net - the DraconicNET IRC website

  • Dragonfire - the offical alt.fan.dragons homepage.

  • AltFansDragons - a collection of sites representing, or of interest to, the Dragon community as a whole

  • Tarnished Images - the offical site for Ruth Thompson's artwork.

  • The Official Art of Michael Whelan - one of the most famous fantasy artists, known for his gorgeous draconic work.

  • BDSM Backroom - an excellent resource, information and content-wise. Some link graphics for other sites are explicit, and there is some limited nudity on the site in pictures provided for educational/demonstrative purposes only (such as Japanese rope bondage).

  • The Castle Realm - an excellent, extensive resource on D/s dynamics and BDSM. Not only is this site porn-free, Lord Colm's the founder of the Porn-Free Kink Ring. (PFKRM)

  • D/s Communication - a collection of well-written, thought provoking essays and information. (PFKRM)

  • The Submissives' Cooperative - a site for submissive women, by submissive women. No checklists or dos and don'ts, just thought-provoking essays and literature. (Not a member of PFKR, but I wouldn't be surprised if it qualified for it.)

  • Submissive Women Kvetch - another porn-free site that's not a member of PFKR, created by BDSM author Jay Wiseman.

  • Christians and BDSM - in spite of the name, there's precious little preaching and bible thumping going on in this excellent resource; there's also very concise and solid warning checklists to help identify actual abusive relationships. (PFKRM)

  • Porn-Free Kink Webring - a good resource for people interested in actual content without being forced to be subjected to pornographic images. (sites specifically marked above with "PFKRM" are members of this webring.)

  • Society for Human Sexuality - not BDSM-specific, but it makes up part of it. It's a good site.

Random Fun
Other goodies on the 'net - things unrelated to the Slayers, even unrelated to anime in general. Submissions not accepted for this category. Updated and changed at whim, uncategorized and unalphabetized. Consider it a grab-bag of links.

Schlock Mercenary - where military humor meets hard science fiction. Bring your own plasma cannon. A webcomic I absolutely adore. Go read. Start from the beginning. It's well worth it.

Something Positive - a webcomic that's not for everyone, and certainly not something I think Filia would find amusing. Xellos, on the other hand... ^_^

HTML Goodies - need to learn about HTML? Start here.

HTML Help - another good place to start learning.

The JavaScript Source - need a script? This place is a pretty decent starting point. Just remember many scripts work only with MSIE.

Sing365 - I used to be a frequently visitor to the International Lyric Server until it bit the legal dust. I missed it. For a while, I couldn't find any other decent mass lyric archives, and then I found this beauty. There's others, but time and again I find myself preferring to check here for my lyrical needs.

Lyrics World - this has something that Sing365 doesn't - this site specializes in top hits and the history of songs, including lyrics dating as far back as the 1920s. It's a great resource for the golden oldies. I verified the release decades for 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes' on the Valgaav/Filia portion of this site through this one.

Anime Lyrics - just like the name says. Anime, game, and J-rock song lyrics.

EServer Fiction Collection - in the mood for a James Joyce short story or a Thomas Hardy novel? Got a hankering to re-read Little Women? Lack a copy at hand, or means to hit a library? You can find them online.

Bartleby - if you don't get lucky with the above link, you can also try Bartleby.com. I'm a frequent visitor to their Shakespeare collection myself. They have a lot more than just selected works of literature available.

Poetry Archives - the archives at eMule are by far my favorite place to hit when I'm looking for the classics.

Encyclopedia Mythica - mythology is one place where all roads do not, in fact, lead to Rome. Come explore hundreds of articles on far more obscure mythologies.

The Shame of Not Wanting Children - sure you want to have children? Read this, and think again -- long and hard. There's no shame in choosing to be ChildFree.

Tornado Project - fwee! Tornadoes! Big whirly death from the sky! I like them just so long as they don't come close to my house.

Movie Mistakes - for the nitpickers in us all.

Novel Advice - marvelous research resource.

Rich Hamper's Writer's Resources - with one of the best darn character-building sheets I've ever seen.
